Celebrate Spring at the 14th Annual Great Zoo Egg-stravaganza!
Eureka, March 14, 2012—Get a jump start on spring at Sequoia Park Zoo’s 14th annual Great Zoo Egg-stravaganza. Bring the kids to the Zoo for a hopping good time as they learn fun facts about animals that flit, flutter and fly in the springtime sky on Saturday, April 7 from noon to 4 p.m.
In addition to the annual Egg Hunt (for 8 and under) and Egg-spedition (for 9 and up), volunteers will be on hand to guide children through an egg-citing array of activities, including:
- Honey Bee Toss
- Bunny Hop
- Insect Hide & Seek
- Egg Decorating
- Wildflower Crafts
- Butterfly Clothespin Crafts
There’s also a self-guided chalk walk to explore Springtime at the Zoo, up close and personal encounters with some of our newer residents, and a newly-egg-spanded animal enrichment schedule:
- 12:30 Gibbons
- 1:00 Spider Monkeys
- 1:30 Ravens
- 2:00 Barnyard
- 2:30 Chacoan Peccaries
- 3:00 Red Pandas
- 3:30 Cotton-top tamarins
All Eggstravaganza activities are included in the price of Zoo admission; Zoo members join the fun for free! So, rain or shine, bring the whole family and connect with the wild inside you on Saturday, April 7 from noon to 4 p.m. at Sequoia Park Zoo, 3414 W Street in Eureka.
