Sequoia Park Zoo Announces Conservation Grant Opportunity

Deadline for applications is Friday, January 29, 2021 at 5:00 PM.

EUREKA, CA – The Zoo’s Conservation Advisory Committee has opened the new cycle of conservation grants for 2021. The committee welcomes proposals for projects that have a clear and direct conservation impact on wildlife and/or habitat conservation and that are in line with the Zoo’s mission and conservation priorities. Special consideration is given to projects supporting local wildlife or habitats, although national and international projects are considered as well. Successful applicants are those whose projects can be completed within one year. Maximum award is $1,500. Deadline for applications is Friday, January 29, 2021 at 5:00 PM. For more details and to download an application, please visit Sequoia Park Zoo’s website at: .

The Zoo’s grant program is administered by the Conservation Advisory Committee, a joint endeavor between the Sequoia Park Zoo & Foundation. The committee’s mission is to raise public awareness of conservation issues and directly impact conservation efforts outside of the Zoo by providing financial support to select organizations and field projects through the Zoo Foundation’s Conservation Fund. “Our Conservation Advisory Committee looks forward to these grant reviews every year,” said Conservation Committee member David Juliano. “It’s one of the best ways the Zoo can contribute to important wildlife conservation projects throughout the world.”
